Ever wanted Botox?

Ya'll I got botox. The first thing everyone would say when I told them I was interested was, "you're so young!" My thoughts were, when I'm 40, I'll be thanking 22 year old Analisa for being preventative! That no wrinkle life is the life I want to live, so I did it.
In this social media life it's hard to not stumble upon a spa page that offers injectables. I see sponsored posts all the time from influencers on where they get their lips done, cheeks, botox, the list can go on. Out of curiosity of what can be done I started following some of these pages where I liked the results they posted for any and all procedures they offer. There are two pages that I enjoyed the most which were Flawless Laser Center (@flawlesslasercenter) and Skin Perfect Medical (@skinperfectmedical). I never followed the pages wanting to get a procedure but over time I started saving photos of lip injections that I thought would be good inspo if I ever wanted to get some.
Every month FLC posts monthly specials on their services, for February I noticed how low their pricing was for laser hair removal and was thinking of getting that done till I flipped to the next photo and saw that their botox was only $9 a unit and that sold me. I immediately put in to request an appointment. Upon the request I filled out that I wanted my forehead and smile lines taken care of. They called me back about a day later and we talked about what I wanted done. They let me know smile lines can only be taken care of with filler so I opted for just my forehead and in between my brows. We made the appointment and that was that.
The day of the appointment I actually went to their Burbank location, so about 2 hours out for me. I went by myself so I was a little nervous as I've never done this before and I didn't know what to expect. Finding it was easy, they had an entire parking lot to themselves which was great considering I HATE looking for parking in places I've never been to before. I walked in and they checked me in and I filled out some paper work similar to like a doctors appointment, medical history, allergies, etc. After that I was done I waited about 10 minutes before I was called into the procedure room. I had a consult with another doctor through Skype before we began anything and they cleared me for injectables of any kind for a year, I'm assuming you have to do this yearly. After that was done the nurse I had, Rebekkah, started talking about why I wanted it where I wanted it, and so on. Going in I figured I only needed maybe 5 units because I'm young and don't really have any winkles so I figured it was going to be relatively cheap. She told me to raise my eyebrows and then frown and she hits me with, "okay I think 18 units is enough." Bitch I was shook, I wasn't going to tell a nurse who has been doing this for 10+ years no I want less. I wanted good results so I said, "okay!" While we were talking away she was getting everything ready, and all of a sudden she says, "okay, I'm going to begin." I sat back and she cleaned my head with a little alcohol and she began the procedure. She pinched my skin in the area's that she was injected and kept counting to three over and over to give me an idea of when the injection was happening. I didn't use any type of numbing agent as they didn't offer any since it's such a minor procedure. Honestly the injection itself was so tiny it felt like a little pinch if that some area's I didn't even feel it. The feeling of the botox going in felt cold, I could feel it going in and spreading in the area and then it felt like nothing.
Right after she was done she let me see in a mirror and in every sight she injected there was a tiny bump, she let me know that in 30 minutes or so those bumps would be gone. I wasn't allowed to bend down or lay down for 3 hours after to let the botox settle and that I wasn't able to get facials for 2 days (jokes on her I've never had a facial.) She also said I wouldn't see the full effect till about 7 days after. I filled out some other paperwork at the end of the appointment for a rewards system which I thought was really cool, for any injectable, botox, fillers, etc. You accumulate points that don't expire and they count as money towards any injectable purchase. She let me know how much it would be and it was about $168 for my forehead and between my brows. I payed and I left, very simple. When I got to my car the bumps were already gone. By the time I got home I had a little bit of a headache, which I think was from nerves and adrenaline mixed together with a long drive. About 3 days after the procedure I saw the results, it basically feels like my entire forehead is moving as one, which may sound crazy but it doesn't look crazy. I can still make all my facial expressions I just don't have any wrinkles!
Overall, I would recommend. The only down side of it would be how far the spa is and how long the procedure took. With the only two locations being in Burbank and Sherman Oaks they are both about 2 hours out, and the procedure it self took literally under a minute, it was very fast. So I basically drove 4 hours to pay $168 for a minute procedure. Besides that I love the results, and will probably go back once it starts wearing off. I do plan on getting lip fillers but they are more pricey of course so that's gonna have to wait. Best believe ya girl will be reviewing that too.
If anyone has more questions regarding it, I'm not an expert but feel free to reach out! Also both the Instagram pages I listed are very helpful and responsive to comments/DM's. xx Analisa
